Blessed Be

"Blessed be" is a common phrase of blessing in the wiccan tradition.  It can also be said as a greeting for someone you wish good health on.  When doing a blessing, I always meditate, clearing my mind and centering my focus on the person[s] or object[s].  This phrase is not just a part of the wiccan tradition, but it can also be seen in other religions and hymns.  Blessing essential oils, candles, crystals, and decks of tarot cards are how I operate my system.  I typically do blessings for special occasions, holidays (birthdays included), and wellness.  By wellness I mean a very general and broad issue.  It can range from being sick to having a bad day.  If I notice that a friend or family member is having a hard time, I bless them.  This can also be done for safety.  I just want the best for those around me because if everyone is well or on their way to wellness, then there is more positive energy for karma to consume.  In a sense a blessing is a lot like a prayer and can be seen as the wiccan prayer.  :)
