Celtic Cross Spread

The celtic cross spread is a ten card spread that I was taught when I was about 9.  I know that there are different variations of this spread and varying layout meanings.  A good thing to remember is that reading tarot cards is a personal situation, so readers can and will customize how they go about doing it.  The picture above shows the order that I lay my cards.  I will list the meanins I use for them below.

Card 1: present position, current issue/emotion
Card 2: what crosses you, what is the challenge you face
Card 3: goal or desire
Card 4: unknown influence to present position or challenge
Card 5: past influence
Card 6: future influence
Card 7: inner emotions, yourself
Card 8: how others see you
Card 9: hopes and fears
Card 10: final outcome

The way I do my spread is pretty basic.  I like reading peoples cards this way because it is simple and can be broken down and explained to them easily.  I also do a simple Problem, Question, Answer spread, which justs consists of three cards.  I enjoy doing relationship spreads as well.  I also have made up a few spreads on my own but typically stick to the classic celtic cross when reading.  If I get a specific feeling from the initial card reading,  I might expand by doing another spread.
